The Technical Zone of confusedaboutenergy.co.uk provides more in depth technical information about power generation, renewable technologies such as solar and wind power and energy saving devices. It contains articles that debate the technical issues in more detail and it will appeal to both technology experts as well as those enthusiasts that wish to learn more about technology developments in this area and how they work. The uptake of renewable technologies is very slow due to the high costs of equipment and very long payback periods. We investigate ways in which this can be changed and evaluate new emerging domestic power generation solutions and energy saving devices. We invite contribution to the site on any of these technical issues and would be very interested to learn about any technologies that can more cost effectively collect and distribute renewable energy or new energy saving devices. |

All calculations on this site are based on current fuel prices they are checked regularly and were last updated on:-
The costs calculated for energy use based on these fuel prices should be regarded as 'good estimates' given that there are a variety of different fuel prices on offer in the country.
The calculations in the site also have different levels of accuracy depending on the nature of the calculation. For example calculating the energy use of a known power output TV is very easy compared when to calculating the effect on household costs with insulating your cavity walls.
